The Big Move to NJ

So, on Saturday Rob and I (with a ton of help from 3 pro NYC movers) moved most of our furniture down to the house. The whole day was smooth as molasses. The movers were so awesome, they basically moved all of our stuff in the snow, because the walkway to the house was still super icy and snowy from last weeks' ice storm. By the time we got the pathway de-iced they were pretty much done. Then, literally just as the moving truck was pulling away, the truck from Boston which held Rob's piano arrived. Then, just as the piano movers were finished putting the piano together and getting it situated, our brother-in-law Endre arrived in a UHaul van with the crib parts and the dresser/changing table for Maryn's room. He also took away our vintage orange velvet sectional (dubbed Big Orange) which we had decided to let go... My sister Holly fell in love with it when she and Hilary visited us in Brooklyn back in December. They had been couchless for while, so really it was a no brainer that Big Orange should go live at the Witthoeft household. Really, though, they are super funky and deserve to be in a funky household! As Endre was leaving, Rob's mom Kathy arrived for her first visit to the house, and really helped a great deal in getting our kitchen boxes unpacked and set up. We had (incredible) pizza from a local Italian restaurant, and basically just hung out for a few hours before crashing. I was pooped! Sunday Rob and Kathy and I set up the crib and did some more unpacking. My grandmother and mom came to visit in the afternoon and we all ate delicious home made soup, hung out some more, and spent some time visualizing window treatments (I need a lot of work in this area) as well as furniture placement(I'm great at this). Overall it was a wonderful, exhausting, productive weekend. Rob and I still have our apartment here in Brooklyn until May 1. Basically we are living minimalistically with two chairs (one is a recliner-heaven for pregnant me!) and a mattress as well as the bare minimum in kitchenware. We still have a good amount of things to move, but nothiing huge and we have until May. My entire wardrobe(which has been collecting tons of dust since the pregnancy) still needs to get down there, as well as tons of random stuff that needs to be gone through...
